About The Position
Colonna's Shipyard West (CSW), a division of Colonna's Shipyard, is seeking 1st Class Pipe Welders to support operations at our site in Chula Vista, CA. The role involves welding together metal components of products, as specified by layout, blueprints, diagram, work order, welding procedures, or oral instructions, using electric arc-welding equipment. The position requires selecting and executing the best method to prepare all material surfaces to be welded, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for welding. Weld completion is expected in various positions and across multiple base materials, along with fabricating complex structures and performing various welding techniques. The welder will also supervise setups, perform inspections, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
