Join us at Flying Horse Resort and Club, your success starts now. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES: Participates in the maintenance of the golf course and grounds. This position requires strong leadership skills used to mentor, motivate and manage a diverse crew. Must be proficient in precise water management of a Toro irrigation system and be able to adjust the central irrigation computer for weather variations. Will be responsible for the maintenance of all OSHA related processes, including SDS inventory, Hazard Communication program and OSHA related safety training. Will ensure that all maintenance personnel are properly trained on all equipment to ensure uniformity and consistency throughout the golf course. This position requires the individual to help with the daily maintenance tasks as well as perform management functions on a daily basis. Assists in the planning, scheduling and supervising maintenance of greens, tees, fairways/rough, bunkers, native areas, wetlands and associated support facilities. Schedules daily work tasks and supervises the maintenance personnel and the use of equipment. Includes, but not limited to, cultural practices such as fertilization, spray applications, aerification and record keeping of all activities. Instructs and trains equipment operators in the safe and efficient operation and care of mowing and other related equipment. Supervises and participates in the operation and maintenance of pumps, irrigation system and drainage projects and miscellaneous renovation items. Assists in personnel management and evaluation and human resource related tasks to include employee safety and personnel discipline. Ability to communicate with staff from various cultural backgrounds encouraged. Assist with various winter activities to include snow removal, winter watering and pruning. Ability to think on your feet and to prioritize work schedule to create maximum efficiency while on the job. Must possess customer service skills and strong oral and written communication skills.

Requirements

  • Some form of Turfgrass or Horticulture degree/certificate or equivalent experience.
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required.
  • Must be detail oriented, accurate and possess good organizational abilities and be capable of handling multiple tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to obtain a Pesticide Applicator License with the Colorado Department of Agriculture; either as a Certified Operator or a Qualified Supervisor (preferred).
  • Ability to communicate with staff from various cultural backgrounds encouraged.
