The position involves performing general maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repairs of the vessel, machinery, and equipment. The role requires participation in fire, man overboard, and abandon ship drills and emergencies, ensuring the proper operation of all equipment and machinery. The individual will troubleshoot, diagnose, and recommend solutions for correcting problems with the equipment and machinery, while also performing and logging all fluid transfers in accordance with state and federal regulations. Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in machinery spaces, storage areas, and supply cabinets is essential, along with managing inventories, engine room logs, and preventative maintenance schedules as required. The position also includes supervising engineering staff to ensure work is performed efficiently and safely, maintaining a constant awareness of safety and accident prevention, and operating, repairing, and maintaining all power plant and building comfort systems adhering to appropriate standards of safety and professionalism.
