1st and 2nd Grade Extended Day Teacher
About The Position
Ravenscroft School is seeking a 1st and 2nd Grade Extended Day Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year. This is a part-time, non-exempt position working Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the academic year. The Extended Day Teacher supports the implementation of planned activities and provides attentive supervision to ensure a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for students. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children, values collaboration, and is committed to fostering meaningful relationships within a diverse and inclusive school community. Requirements
- Experience working with young children and demonstrated enthusiasm for doing so
- Strong communication skills and tact when interacting with parents, colleagues, and students
- Dependable with a strong work ethic and collaborative mindset
- Ability to work the scheduled hours of 2:30 p.m.–6:00 p.m., Monday–Friday
- Flexibility to support additional program hours as needed

- Background and/or degree in Education or a related field
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive supervision of 1st and 2nd grade students during play, homework time, and structured program activities
- Implement age-appropriate activities within the Extended Day program structure
- Maintain a safe and nurturing environment by proactively monitoring student behavior and addressing safety concerns
- Communicate with parents regarding student progress and daily experiences
- Contribute to general planning and preparation for program activities
- Coordinate activities and assist with field trips as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
- Monitor facilities for safety issues and report concerns promptly
- Collaborate effectively with Extended Day staff and other school personnel
- Provide flexibility to support Early Release Days, Teacher Workdays, and additional program needs as required
