About The Position

St. Edmund's Academy provides an exceptional independent school experience for children in Preschool through 8th Grade. We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic teacher with a minimum of 3 years of current experience for a 1st-4th Grade Science and Engineering & Design Teacher position. The Science and Engineering & Design Teacher will be responsible for implementing the curriculum with joy and creativity and in collaboration with the academic leadership to ensure alignment with the school’s philosophy and practices. Experience with FOSS/ASSET science curricula is preferred. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, responding to students' individual learning needs, collaborative planning with colleagues, respectful communication with parents, and supporting community initiatives. Candidates must have an outstanding record teaching elementary school-aged groups. The ability to be collaborative, detail-oriented and innovative is essential. Excellent writing skills and strong verbal communication are expected. The candidate must model and champion the school’s core values including an overt commitment to inclusion and belonging for all members of the school’s diverse community. Teachers dedicated to meeting the academic and personal needs of the students and collaborating with colleagues and parents should apply. A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
