The YEA STEM Coordinator at North Carolina A&T State University will oversee the development, management, implementation, and evaluation of agricultural science, technology, and engineering-focused 4-H content for youth and families. This role involves coordinating quarterly STEM events in hybrid formats and managing a youth advisory board, ensuring that programs meet the needs of a diverse audience. The coordinator will also collaborate with the project team to provide professional development opportunities and manage programs related to various agricultural sciences.

  • Coordinate quarterly STEM events for YEA participants across the consortium of land grant universities.
  • Manage a youth advisory board, including conducting quarterly meetings and tracking progress towards goals.
  • Develop and implement agricultural science, technology, and engineering programs for youth.
  • Assist with ongoing program evaluation and recommend revisions based on audience needs.
  • Collaborate with the YEA project team to create professional development opportunities for staff and volunteers.
  • Recruit participants and develop marketing materials for the consortium.
  • Bachelor's degree in a science, technology, engineering or agricultural discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Two or more years of experience in a science or technical-related occupation or teaching.
  • Proficiency in Zoom, Microsoft Teams, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Office; experience with statistical analysis software preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and personal transportation.
  • Ability to travel and work after hours/weekends as needed.
  • Ability to lift and carry program materials up to 30 pounds.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Earned MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, or related field.
  • Experience serving in a youth organization or school.
  • Experience working with diverse underserved youth.
  • Experience in developing training curriculum or materials.
