About The Position

Sigma Defense is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at Patuxent River NAS, MD. The role involves supporting the PMA-290 Mission Systems Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) in various capacities including CONOPS analysis, requirements decomposition, software development planning, and program execution efforts to meet Fleet expectations. The engineer will also assist in troubleshooting the P-8A Mission Systems and Combat Systems, participate in Agile Development methodology, and support design solutions integrated into common network/hardware baselines.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of Systems engineering experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related field of study.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with NAVAIR.
  • Familiarity with MPRA.
  • Knowledge of P-8A, P8 Air SSP, and P8 Ground SSP.

Responsibilities

  • Support PMA-290 Mission Systems Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) in support of Combat and Mission Systems.
  • Conduct CONOPS analysis, requirements decomposition, software development plan and schedule, and program execution efforts meeting 100% of Fleet expectations.
  • Develop technical capabilities roadmaps.
  • Participate in ECP/TD development, approval, and implementation.
  • Generate engineering and technical analyses, requirements UI designs, change proposals, and other technical documentation as required.
  • Assist in troubleshooting the P-8A Mission Systems and Combat Systems when malfunctions and failures are reported by Fleet customers.
  • Assist in on-going implementation of the Agile Development methodology.
  • Support all efforts to remove impediments of the engineering team to ensure on time delivery and completion of sprints and deliverables.
  • Support the development, design, and architecture recommendations for current and future PEO C4I Software (SW) and hardware (HW) baselines.
  • Support design solutions integrated into any common network/hardware baseline or environment.
  • Utilize an understanding of principles and related technologies using PO directed tools such as Git, PowerShell, Ansible, Ansible Tower, Windows and Linux Operating Systems, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, Amazon Web Services (AWS) Elastic Computing Cloud (EC2), Microsoft Azure Cloud Computing Services, cloud storage, REST APIs, and the Atlassian suite of tools (Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket).
