About The Position
The position involves executing the strategic communications plan and statewide communications initiatives for VDOT. The role supports VDOT leaders and staff in both internal and external communications, targeting local, state, and federal audiences, including media, government officials, non-profits, the private sector, and the general public. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining effective relationships with media, maintaining employee publications, internet site, web content, external newsletters, press releases, brochures, reports, and outreach initiatives.
