About The Position

This position will be responsible for the preventative maintenance, repair, and creation of tooling across the facility critical to keeping production running. Eligible candidates may be subject to an interview and/or an aptitude test to determine candidate qualification for the position.

Requirements

• Five or more years of experience in tooling and die making.
• Ability to use conventional machines such as surface grinders, lathes, mills, jig borers, and saws.
• Experience in troubleshooting die performance and making adjustments.
• Ability to create and utilize prints and specifications for fabrication.
• Knowledge of measurement equipment such as gage blocks, calipers, and micrometers.
• Good working knowledge of materials and heat treatments.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds and work in tight spaces.
• Ability to wear appropriate PPE and work with industrial chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repair of tooling.
• Create tooling necessary for production.
• Communicate professionally, both written and verbal.
• Make precision tools/dies, jigs, fixtures, and machine parts from raw material to finished state.
• Setup and service progressive, pierce, and form dies utilizing conventional machines.
• Troubleshoot die performance in the press and adjust die/press as needed.
• Perform layout work and create prints, sketches, models, and specifications.
• Use measurement equipment to verify dimensions and alignments.
• Specify proper materials, grades, heat treatments, and coatings for applications.
• Maintain good working relationships with personnel and contractors.
• Utilize work order and logging system to document work performed.
• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment.
• Participate in technical training as necessary.
