About The Position

The position involves designing and developing security architecture patterns that meet regulatory obligations and data protection requirements while aligning with the business and corporate security strategy. The role requires collaboration with security engineers to build security controls and solutions that comply with approved architecture frameworks and standards. The responsibilities include designing security architecture elements to mitigate threats, creating solutions that align with enterprise security architecture frameworks, participating in risk assessments for new technologies, and performing security assessments to identify gaps in existing security architecture. Additionally, the role involves employing secure configuration management processes, assisting in the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans, and providing input on security requirements for procurement documents.

Requirements

  • Education equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a job-related field of study.
  • Six (6) years of IT experience in network security, assessment, investigation, and response or job-related experience.
  • Prefer certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CISA, CISM, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)-ISSAP, TOGAF, or SABSA.

Responsibilities

  • Designs security architecture elements to mitigate threats.
  • Creates solutions that align enterprise security architecture frameworks and standards (e.g. SABSA, NIST 80-53, ISO 27002) with overall business and security strategy.
  • Participates in risk assessments for new technologies and projects.
  • Performs security assessments, identifies gaps in existing security architecture, and recommends changes or improvements.
  • Monitors emerging products, technologies, or best practices to improve security for the organization and its stakeholders.
  • Employs secure configuration management processes.
  • Assists in developing a disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
  • Assists senior leadership in the development of security policies, standards, and strategies.
  • Documents security requirements and controls for protecting information, systems, and technology assets.
  • Provides input on security requirements to be included in request for proposals (RFPs), statements of work (SOWs), and other procurement documents.
  • Communicates current and emerging security threats to project team members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
