About The Position

To provide support to the 12-month building secretary and school staff. To increase the efficiency of the school office in all aspects of operation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Good typing skills
  • Excellent operational knowledge of computer hardware and software
  • Excellent communication and personnel skills

Nice To Haves

  • Post high school training in secretarial procedures preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Processes all purchase requisitions.
  • Prepares general supply orders.
  • Maintains a file of current catalogs.
  • Maintains updated equipment inventory.
  • Processes the monthly telephone bill.
  • Maintains updated policy book.
  • Assists instructional staff with copying needs.
  • Answers school phones. Takes messages for the school principal, teachers, and staff. Ensures these individuals receive their messages in a timely fashion.
  • Assists parents and other community members who visit the school office. Issues visitor passes. Direct parents to their children's classroom. Interacts with parents in a courteous, professional fashion at all times.
  • Performs such other tasks as assigned by the building principal or his designee.
