This posting has been designated by the Company as a 'Hard-to-Fill' position and therefore is eligible for a $10,000 signing and retention bonus under the terms and conditions of the executed (revised) LOMA dated 03/30/2022. The Generation Team has an immediate opening for a E&I Journeyman at our Yucca Power Plant. The E&I Journeyman will support the safe, efficient and cost-effective production of electrical energy by performing Instrumentation and Electrical Maintenance work. Writes and reviews work scope and hazard/risk assessment of work assignments. May perform other duties as assigned. The work schedule for this position is a 12-hour rotating shift as defined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement; LOMA dated December 8, 2015.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years or older.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Successfully complete E&I Apprenticeship or demonstrate equivalent skills and knowledge.
  • Must qualify as Electrical and Instrumentation Journeyman or equivalent.
  • Must live within Reasonable Distance (one (1) hour) from Headquarters.
  • Must successfully pass the mechanical aptitude test (MASS).
  • Pass APS aptitude and qualifying skills tests (written/hands-on).

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of APM and safety standards related to electrical and instrumentation maintenance.
  • Experience with aerial equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Read work orders, technical manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, Control Wiring Diagrams (CWDs) and other diagrams related to the work assignment.
  • Enter and manipulate data in a maintenance computer system to record maintenance activity.
  • Maintain instrumentation lists, parameters and settings.
  • Use troubleshooting software such as Pi, DB Doc, CITECT and vendor internet sites for graphs and trends.
  • Inspect and test electrical and instrumentation equipment and circuits and analyze test data to identify malfunctions or defects using wiring diagrams and testing devices.
  • Remove, disassemble, calibrate and maintain electrical and instrumentation equipment, controls, fixtures and appliances including digital and analog controls.
  • Install, test, clean, remove, repair and troubleshoot medium and low voltage circuit breakers and related protective relay equipment and transformers.
  • Maintain grounding grids, perform cadmium welds, install grounding trucks/breakers following all grounding and bonding procedures using live line tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
