1:1 School Nurse: Pediatric Seizure Care

Cross Country Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide essential, one-on-one health support for a student in Wood Dale, IL . Position Overview: Provide continuous 1:1 support for a student with complex needs throughout the school day, including transport to and from home. Closely monitor seizure activity and provide immediate assistance as needed, including the use of a Vagal Nerve Stimulator (VNS) and the administration of emergency medications. Assist with the safe transfer and positioning of a student who uses a wheelchair and stroller, ensuring comfort and safety across all school settings. Partner with teachers and specialists to integrate the student’s health requirements into their classroom and developmental activities.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Certification
- Valid Illinois RN or LPN License
- Proven experience in managing pediatric seizure disorders and a high comfort level with emergency response protocols
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience working with children who have cognitive/visual impairments and multiple physical disabilities (Strongly Preferred)
