About The Position

The School Age Childcare Site Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Adventure Club program, which provides before and after school care for children. This full-time, year-round position focuses on creating a safe and engaging environment that meets the developmental needs of children while supervising associate teachers and ensuring compliance with educational standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 36 college credits is preferred, with consideration given to a degree/certification in progress, and/or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Skilled in written and verbal communication.
  • Ability and willingness to supervise associate teacher(s).
  • Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Dependable and reliable in daily attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a friendly and safe environment that encourages exploration and meets the emotional, physical, intellectual, and social needs of both the individual and the group.
  • Interact appropriately with the students and encourage their involvement in activities.
  • Create daily lesson plans based on curriculum with the support of associate teachers.
  • Establish and maintain good written and verbal communication with parents daily as necessary.
  • Observe, record, and report significant individual and group behavior, and report other program/site/classroom needs to appropriate individuals.
  • Continue professional development as required by the program and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
  • Use developmentally appropriate practices and conflict resolution strategies.
  • Maintain all paperwork, records, and files as required.
  • Follow through with all instruction from supervisors.
  • Prepare materials and paperwork as required by program needs.
  • Supervise, support, and evaluate associate teachers as required, keeping them informed of all program goals and developments.
  • Inform the Program Coordinator of program or individual needs.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Work overtime as directed by supervisor.
  • Attend meetings as requested.
  • Adhere to all school district and program policies.

Benefits

  • Eligible for benefits including a bonus of $1.00 per hour worked, paid twice a year on January 15th and June 15th.
