About The Position

The position is for a full-time AMG Specialist in the Emergency Medicine department at Advocate Health. The role involves 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays, with hours from 0900-2100 and 1200-0000. The pay range for this position is between $57.85 and $86.80 per hour. The major responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, and managing treatment plans for patients, performing and interpreting diagnostic studies, providing health promotion and disease management education, and maintaining accurate documentation in the electronic medical record. The role also requires participation in quality and safety initiatives, onboarding new team members, and maintaining productivity and quality metrics. The position demands knowledge of age-specific care and the ability to adapt to evolving technology.

Requirements

  • Active RN and APRN/APRN-FPA/APNP or other APRN license(s) in state(s) of practice.
  • Active national board certification in area of clinical practice and populations served.
  • Active DEA registration prior to hire.
  • Active Illinois Controlled Substance License prior to hire (if applicable).
  • Active BLS and/or ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by clinical practice prior to or within 6 months of hire.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing.
  • No experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and determine treatment and management plans appropriate for age, acuity, and clinical condition.
  • Order, perform, and interpret appropriate diagnostic studies.
  • Prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions and therapies.
  • Manage conditions based on clinical indication, evidence-based care, cost-effectiveness, and assessment of risks/benefits.
  • Provide health promotion, disease prevention, and disease management counseling and education to patients and families.
  • Manage patients as part of an interdisciplinary team and within scope of practice.
  • Seek physician or healthcare team member consultation or referrals as appropriate.
  • Escalate need for more emergent or specialized care when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, concise, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in quality, safety, and peer review initiatives.
  • Participate in education and onboarding of new team members and students.
  • Maintain standards of productivity, access, face-to-face time, and quality metrics.
