About The Position

Manage and supervise the constructing, assembly, maintaining, planning, lay-out, installing, testing and repair all types of boiler and auxiliary systems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards. Plan and coordinate the efforts of the foremen and crewmen under his/her supervision and motivate them to accomplish the work safely, correctly and efficiently. Supervise other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision.

Requirements

  • Previous Journeyman and Supervisor experience working in the boilermaker craft or similar craft.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Boilermaker Systems and craft.
  • Working knowledge of iron working techniques, pipe fitting techniques, and methods for different types of boiler systems.
  • Understanding of boiler and pressure vessel codes.
  • Leadership abilities and organizational skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all of the principal duties and accountabilities of workers under supervision.
  • Lead and support all safety related processes and programs.
  • Engage with work team to ensure zero injuries.
  • Lead, complete, and sign off on daily pre-job safety planning.
  • Identify safety hazards and take corrective action.
  • Ensure all crew members understand and participate in safety planning.
  • Be proficient in scheduling, material control, unit man-hour performance, estimating fundamentals, and job cost management.
  • Create and execute a 4 week schedule and monitor the foreman's one week schedule.
  • Review and approve crew's timecards.
  • Participate in incident investigations and report accidents.
  • Use effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Coordinate and communicate work with other crafts and co-workers.
  • Train/teach safety practices and ensure foremen do the same.
  • Plan and communicate with supervisor to assure adequate supply of tools and materials.
  • Prepare and monitor the progress of the work.
  • Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with contract plans and specifications.
  • Ensure that construction equipment is correctly operated and maintained.
  • Complete performance reviews for subordinates.
