About the position

WRAL News, a leader in award-winning journalism, is seeking an Executive Producer for WRAL News Plus. The TV Streaming Executive Producer leads our news streaming efforts across numerous platforms, requiring exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to drive high-quality, compelling news content. This position oversees the day-to-day news operations, ensuring that our broadcasts are informative, engaging, and adhere to the highest journalistic standards. This role requires a skilled storyteller with experience in live streaming, video editing, and production.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the news production team, including producers/editors and anchors creating streaming content all day every day.
• Oversee the editorial content of all newscasts and digital platforms.
• Supervise the production of daily newscasts, special reports, and breaking news coverage.
• Develop and implement content strategies that enhance viewership and engagement.
• Coordinate with other departments, including sales, marketing, and digital.
• Manage the news department budget, including resource allocation and cost control.
• Mentor and train newsroom staff to enhance their skills and career growth.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.
• Lead the newsroom in crisis situations, providing clear direction.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in news production.
• Proven track record of successful news programming and team leadership.
• Exceptional news judgment and editorial skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in news production software and newsroom systems.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Innovative thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Mastery of AP stylebook.
• Experience with OTT (over-the-top) streaming services.
• Familiarity with SEO and social media strategies for digital content.
• Background in breaking news or live event coverage.
