The position at White Cap involves designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise wireless communication systems. The role focuses on ensuring high performance, security, and reliability of complex wireless networks while collaborating with various teams to deliver scalable solutions that meet business and customer needs.

  • Develop, plan, and implement RF wireless networks from concept to deployment, collaborating with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Account for network capacity and scalability to support growth and data traffic, regularly assessing network performance.
  • Research and recommend wireless infrastructure equipment, leading installation and configuration of hardware and software.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of wireless infrastructure, including SOPs and configuration records.
  • Monitor data network system performance and troubleshoot to isolate and diagnose performance issues.
  • Identify and resolve wireless connectivity issues to restore normal operation.
  • Provide training and mentorship to peers on wireless technologies.
  • Ensure effective communication with team members and leadership regarding network initiatives.
  • Install and configure hardware, perform upgrades, and monitor installation progress for network infrastructure.
  • Establish network users and security for installed networks, troubleshooting cabling and equipment issues.
  • Typically requires a BS/BA in a related discipline or MS/MA with relevant experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a related field, or 2-4 years with a master's degree.
  • Certification is required in some areas.
  • Thorough understanding of authentication methods, including Entra ID, for network security and compliance.
  • Standard network engineering skills, including experience with network configuration, routing, switching, and security fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in network infrastructure services, user and site-to-site VPNs, and cloud networking.
  • Hands-on experience in implementing and managing wireless security solutions.
  • Experience with Extreme Networks wireless and Ekahau Wi-Fi design and analysis.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
