About The Position

The Wire Drawing Operator at Insteel Industries is responsible for operating machinery used in the manufacturing of steel wire products. This role requires mechanical aptitude, the ability to conduct equipment inspections, and assist in repairs and maintenance. Operators will be trained to understand mechanical processes and document production information accurately.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to complete simple forms and understand written instructions.
• Basic arithmetic skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery for manufacturing steel wire products.
• Conduct equipment inspections to ensure proper operation and mechanical integrity.
• Assist in the repair and maintenance of machines and facilities as required.
• Document production information on tally sheets and make basic production entries into the computer.
• Understand and apply basic mathematical principles related to measurements.
