We are seeking an experienced and dynamic WiFi Access Point Firmware Team Manager to lead the development and optimization of firmware for WiFi access points that are integrated into a larger Artificial Intelligence (AI) system, Marvis. In this role, you will manage a team of firmware engineers focused on creating innovative and reliable solutions for WiFi access points, with the added responsibility of enabling cloud management functionality for these devices. You will be pivotal in ensuring that our WiFi access points integrate seamlessly with the Marvis AI platform to deliver advanced network intelligence and performance monitoring.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded firmware development, with at least 2 years in a leadership role managing teams in the WiFi or networking domain.
  • Strong experience with cloud-based management systems and wireless networking technologies, especially WiFi 5, 6, 6E, 7, and familiarity with AI-driven systems.
  • Proven experience in leading firmware development for IoT or networking devices, particularly those with AI and cloud management capabilities.
  • Expertise in wireless protocols (WiFi 5, 6, 6E, WiFi 7, etc.), cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), and cloud-based management solutions.
  • Knowledge of security standards for wireless communication (e.g., WPA3, VPNs, encryption) and cloud-based systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management abilities, with a focus on driving cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges and make high-impact decisions.
  • Experience in agile development and project management, using tools such as JIRA.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Marvis AI or similar AI-driven network management systems.
  • Exposure to wireless certification processes (e.g., WiFi Alliance) or knowledge of AI model deployment in embedded systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of firmware engineers dedicated to the development of WiFi access point firmware.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and set clear goals for both individual and team growth.
  • Oversee the design, development, and optimization of firmware for WiFi access points that operate within a cloud-managed environment, supporting remote configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure firmware integrates smoothly with the Marvis AI platform to enhance network intelligence, anomaly detection, and predictive maintenance capabilities.
  • Work closely with hardware, software, and cloud teams to define technical requirements, design solutions, and implement features that enable seamless communication between access points, the cloud, and Marvis AI.
  • Lead the development and integration of cloud management features, ensuring that WiFi access points can be remotely configured, updated, and monitored via a cloud platform.
  • Collaborate with cloud engineering teams to ensure robust, scalable, and secure cloud-based management tools are in place for seamless operation and user experience.
  • Collaborate with AI engineers to ensure that WiFi access points are optimized for integration with Marvis, enabling automated network management, performance optimization, and intelligent decision-making based on AI-driven insights.
  • Manage project timelines, allocate resources, and drive the delivery of new firmware releases that incorporate cloud management and AI features.
  • Lead efforts to prioritize and resolve technical issues, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality firmware solutions.
  • Oversee the development of automated testing strategies, tools, and frameworks for cloud-managed access points.
  • Ensure the firmware is rigorously tested in both cloud and local environments to guarantee reliable performance and seamless AI integration.
  • Stay at the forefront of WiFi technologies, cloud management, and AI advancements to bring innovative solutions to our products.
  • Research and implement new features, security protocols, and enhancements to ensure our access points remain competitive in the evolving market.
