About The Position

The Welding/Fabrication Mechanical Technician position at BioPharm Engineered Systems (BPES) involves hands-on welding, fabrication, polishing, and testing of stainless-steel equipment primarily for the pharmaceutical industry. The role requires collaboration with various teams and stakeholders to ensure high-quality production and adherence to industry standards.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of TIG welding experience required.
• Knowledge of ASME/BPE Codes and Standards, and GMPs related to the pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
• Familiarity with various types of hand and power tools.
• Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulic systems and components is a plus.
• Ability to follow directions and execute daily tasks.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge related to process, design, fabrication, and testing of TFF, Chromatography, and Bioreactor systems is a plus.
• Ability to continuously improve upon safety, quality, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the assembly, fabrication, welding, and testing of stainless-steel parts and equipment.
• Produce high-quality welds on stainless steel frame, tubing, and valve fabrications using manual and automatic TIG/GTAW welding processes.
• Utilize various types of machinery and hand tools related to the cutting, machining, and polishing of stainless steel.
• Read and follow assembly drawings and day-to-day directions from the department head.
• Regularly discuss progress, problems, and proposed solutions with colleagues and senior personnel.
