About The Position

The Vice Principal at Chicopee Academy is responsible for assisting the principal in managing school operations, providing instructional leadership, maintaining a safe environment, and coordinating school activities. This role requires effective communication with staff, students, and the community, as well as addressing issues that impact the school. The Vice Principal will also represent the school positively within the community and perform additional duties as assigned by the principal or superintendent.

Requirements

• Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as a school principal/assistant principal.
• A minimum of five (5) years of successful classroom teaching experience.
• Previous school leadership experience.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to use and manipulate technology for record keeping, scheduling, communication, data collection, and accountability.

• Knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations related to school operations and management.
• Experience in developing professional development plans that positively impact student achievement.

Responsibilities

• Assist the principal in managing overall school site operations in accordance with school, district, DESE and state policies.
• Provide instructional leadership to staff.
• Maintain an orderly and safe school environment including student discipline.
• Coordinate school activities and duties.
• Communicate and cooperate with staff, students, administration, parents and stakeholders.
• Address issues that impact the school.
• Positively represent the school within the community.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the principal or superintendent.

• Competitive salary range of $104,458 - $106,215 per year.
