VDC/BIM Engineer

The VDC/BIM Engineer at Rugged Robotics plays a crucial role in the operations team, focusing on deploying the company's robot in the field and providing automated construction layout services. This position involves innovating new tools to streamline the CAD processing pipeline, processing customer CAD data, and ensuring accurate and valuable layout information. The engineer will also collaborate with customer VDC teams, improve data pipelines, and contribute to pushing the construction industry forward. Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD, along with a drive for process improvement and automation, are essential for success in this role.

Implement plugins and scripts in Revit and AutoCAD to improve processing efficiency and accuracy

Innovate novel workstreams as new print features are requested by our customers

Work within Revit and AutoCAD to ingest customer CAD data and process it for our automated layout robot

Represent the company by coordinating with customer VDC teams to ensure we are receiving the right data at the right time

Work closely with our customers to improve their data pipelines and push the construction industry forward

Comfortable working with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD to process and manipulate CAD data

Excited to create Autodesk scripts and plugins to improve efficiency and automate pieces of the CAD processing pipeline
