Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in food processing or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety procedures and use all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Adhere to the Basic Principle Guide and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Assume personal responsibility for maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Hook up, connect, and inspect all product lines for daily production.
  • Load tankers with the correct product and accurate weight during production.
  • Pull samples for laboratory testing from each product shipped.
  • Monitor and achieve correct solids for each product shipped.
  • Continually monitor solids, quality, and proper cooling of various products.
  • Understand and manage ice builder and cooling procedures for different seasons.
  • Set up silo assignments on Panel View and coordinate silo selection and switching during production.
  • Complete and file all necessary paperwork for HACCP compliance.
  • Hook up, connect, and operate pipelines for vats and tankers.
  • Operate the CIP (Clean-In-Place) system on Panel View.
  • Demonstrate proper use and handling of chemicals.
  • Work as a team with fellow employees and communicate effectively with the maintenance department.
  • Prepare liquid schedules for daily production and shipping, and communicate directly with shag drivers.
  • Conduct oneself professionally to ensure product quality and lead by example.
  • Work with the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) to ensure compliance.
  • Adhere to Quality work practices, follow all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), and maintain sanitary conditions.
  • Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed or scheduled.
  • Able to walk on cement and climb stairs excessively for most of the shift.
  • Forklift trained.
