About The Position

The position involves operating a saw to cut shafts to specified lengths and angles according to blueprints, ensuring that customer requirements are met. The role requires the use of various measuring equipment and includes component installation on shafts, as well as maintaining a productive and safe working environment to manufacture high-quality products.

Requirements

• One month of previous experience operating a band saw or equivalent equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production drawings.
• Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure.
• Skill in keeping accurate records and inspecting finished products for quality.
• Ability to operate a grinder, swedger, punch, and stamping unit.
• Ability to attain a Valmont forklift operator's certification.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision and meet production deadlines.
• One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Previous experience using IFS or a comparable ERP/MRP system.

Responsibilities

• Operate a saw to cut shafts to specified lengths and angles per blueprints.
• Use measuring equipment such as tape measures, micrometers, and protractors.
• Install components on shafts, including welding and plasma cutting.
• Read blueprints and understand geometric angles for material cutting.
• Utilize common shop mathematics to set up machinery and manufacture products according to specifications.
• Transfer and issue material using IFS as dictated by production orders.
• Maintain a productive working environment for high-quality manufacturing.
• Safely operate a forklift.
