About The Position

The Ultrasound Technologist will perform diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing quality images for interpretation. The position is full-time, requiring 36 hours per week, and is located at Ascension St. Vincent Fishers in Fishers, Indiana. The technologist will set up and adjust all equipment, manually maneuver transducers to perform exams, and implement safety standards while performing appropriate quality control procedures. The role also involves recognizing significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations, ensuring equipment is functioning properly, and maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• One or more of the following required: Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date; Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date; Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date; Sonography Tech credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
• High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical certificate/degree required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing quality images for interpretation.
• Set up and adjust all equipment and manually maneuver transducers to perform exams.
• Implement safety standards and perform appropriate quality control procedures.
• Perform routine and complex studies and assist in a variety of imaging procedures.
• Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations.
• Ensure equipment is properly functioning and report potential problems or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
• Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies.
