About The Position

The Treaty Development Analyst develops, designs and produces reinsurance treaties (contracts) of routine to medium complexity directly related to management policies and general business operations. Ensures the treaties accurately reflect the reinsurance agreement reached between RGA Re and its clients. Ensures the accuracy and integrity of Raptor treaty record set up. Assists department associates with research and developing amendments in Raptor. Assists with special projects, as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS), paralegal degree or equivalent related experience in insurance, reinsurance or law related positions.
  • 2+ Years of life insurance or reinsurance experience required or 2+ Years of document drafting experience.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word skills; Basic Microsoft Excel skills and Microsoft Outlook skills required.
  • Ability to read and interpret routine to medium complexity treaty language, and to apply it appropriately.
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills; Ability to share and impart knowledge through training or discussions.
  • Must be flexible and adaptive to change.
  • Takes initiative and is accountable.
  • Demonstrate change initiation skills.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills; Must possess investigative skills.
  • Value judgment abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Researches, designs and creates routine to medium complexity treaties.
  • Ensures the documents accurately reflect the agreement reached between Group Re and its clients.
  • Escalates language outside guideline parameters for assessment and assists with obtaining approvals when needed.
  • Ensures treaties comply with state and federal insurance regulations and corporate contract standards.
  • Identifies differences and escalates for review.
  • Maintains relationships with clients and other Group Re associates to facilitate effective resolution of treaty issues.
  • Under supervision, advises clients of recommended revisions to the treaty document(s) and monitors status of documents to ensure they are properly executed.
  • Works collaboratively with internal associates in various departments and with clients to deliver timely service and to set reasonable expectations related to the completion of treaties.
  • Develops and updates template treaty documents and produces reports that monitor, among other things, timeliness of execution.
  • Assists department associates with research, setting up and developing amendments, as necessary.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
