About The Position

The Traveling Welding Maintenance Technician will be responsible for repairing low temperature, high-pressure cryogenic and industrial gas equipment at customer sites, often in adverse outdoor conditions. This role requires a combination of mechanical and technical skills, including welding and maintenance expertise, and involves significant travel to various locations across the country.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 5 to 8 years of TIG welding experience or certification as a TIG pipe welder.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work with complex parts and assembly drawings.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and equipment.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal skills to interface with customers.
• Valid driver's license and ability to be insured under the company's driver insurance policy.
• Capability to complete tasks unassisted at customer locations.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of crane and rigging specific to cryogenic and industrial gas equipment.
• Experience testing and repairing electrical devices and installations related to industrial gas.
• Proficiency in vacuum work and mass spectrometer applications.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, troubleshoot, fit, test, recondition, and repair parts and components using precision tools and equipment.
• Communicate with customers regarding the progress of projects.
• Complete and maintain detailed records of repairs and all work performed using a computer system.
• Drive to customer locations, which may require overnight hotel stays and air travel.
