About the position

Summit Materials is looking for a mechanically inclined, safety-oriented Track Hoe operator to support in a Sand and Gravel or Aggregates environment. Responsibilities

• Daily Equipment Inspection: Report any safety or mechanical issues to supervisor immediately and turn in equipment inspection log daily. Do not run equipment without performing the inspection.
• Fueling of Equipment: Equipment is to be fueled at the end of each shift.
• Operation of equipment: Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner, maintain control of the equipment, and do not idle equipment when not in use.
• Site Observations and Safety Awareness: Maintain high quality feed material, watch for potential site or plant problems, and be alert to site hazards.
• Productivity: Produce material that provides the most consistent, highest quality end products under the direction of the leadman and pit supervisor.

Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
• Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
• Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
• Report to the assigned job site in proper attire and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Policies, Programs & Procedures Manual.
• Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
