About The Position
Great Barrington, MA (7,200 pop. year-round), is seeking a seasoned manager with exceptional leadership, financial, and communication skills interested in taking on challenging opportunities in a beautiful setting to serve as Town Manager. The Manager will face challenges related to aging infrastructure, possible acquisition of one of the privately owned water districts, an increasing number of costly priorities, and addressing workforce housing needs. Great Barrington is a beautiful and vibrant community in Berkshire County with an active downtown, beautiful landscapes, and abundant open space. There are a significant number of second homes and vacation homes in Town and the population more than doubles during busy summer and autumn months. Great Barrington has an Open Town Meeting form of government with a Town Manager and five-member Selectboard. It has an AAA rating, and FY25 budget of $45M.
