About The Position

The Tool & Diemaker / New Tool position at Connecticut Spring & Stamping involves developing and implementing documentation, procedures, systems, and tools to enhance the quality, cost, and lead-time of products. Requirements

• Minimum 5 years experience in the set-up, troubleshooting, and production of progressive/compound & secondary tooling.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints for production manufacturing.
• Working knowledge and practical experience with statistical process control in production environments.
• Familiarity with ISO quality standards and their application in production.
• Understanding of Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Engineering principles.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing methodologies (Kaizen, Kanban, SMED, 5S, etc.).
• Experience with production standards, cost of quality, and manufacturing methods.
• Detail-oriented and task-driven work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain new tooling, including first piece quality submission.
• Alert Supervisor of scheduling conflicts, machine maintenance, and tool maintenance on tooling projects.
• Assist in standardizing tooling component inventory.
• Ensure 100% on-time delivery per confirmed schedule for tool/fixture/gage builds.
• Assist in developing project/tool estimates (quotes).
• Contribute to the development and implementation of lean projects.
• Support CSS Managers with metal stamping and four slides programs as requested.
• Observe CSS processes and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Notify Supervisor of updates and corrections needed on job travelers for operation changes/additions.
• Maintain adherence to company policies, environmental and safety standards, and good housekeeping standards.
