The City of Aurora is accepting applications for temporary Maintenance Workers to assist with street maintenance during the winter season from November 1, 2024 up to March 31, 2025 or less depending on weather conditions. The temporary Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing a variety of manual tasks and will serve as a floater for the Public Works Department. Duties include but are not limited to: Upkeep and repair of public property, roadways, equipment, and building/grounds; Operate trucks and other maintenance vehicles; Respond to emergency weather situations to inspect roadways, operate snowplows/salt spreaders, and remove other hazardous materials/obstacles from the roadways; Other duties as assigned. Duties may be performed in extreme weather conditions and may involve heavy lifting.
