About The Position

We are hiring an R D Technical Director to take charge of developing cutting-edge powder coating systems and play a pivotal role in driving sales success for the General Industrial Division. As a key member of our R D leadership team, you'll be at the forefront of shaping a customer-centric, high-performance culture, collaborating across Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and other teams to unlock new business opportunities and fuel exciting growth!

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.
  • At least 10 years of experience in coatings, paints, polymer development, with exposure to intellectual property.
  • 3+ years managing laboratory teams of 15+ people.
  • Expertise in coatings formulation and application testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma certification
  • Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical software
  • Experience with intellectual property management and patents.
  • Background in polymer resin technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development of powder coating systems while contributing to global initiatives.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to support business growth and maintain customer relationships.
  • Lead strategic projects that drive regional expansion.
  • Manage intellectual property and collaborate with global teams on technology transfer and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Work with teams in purchasing, product management, and raw materials to optimize material selection and reduce costs.
  • Build and maintain external partnerships with research institutions and companies to promote innovation.
  • Lead efforts to enhance team capabilities, improve efficiency, and implement best practices.
  • Ensure a safe work environment in laboratory and operational settings.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, aligning technical resources with business objectives.
  • Hold regional technical teams accountable for meeting goals and customer needs.
  • Manage talent development, acquisition, and retention to ensure a skilled, engaged workforce.
  • Guide performance reviews, career development, and succession planning.
