About The Position

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of related work experience involving direct assistance to researchers or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Proficient in basic microbiology and molecular biology techniques.
  • Completion of all required safety training associated with the lab.

Responsibilities

  • Perform research-related activities limited in scope and complexity in a specialized field.
  • Support the planning, design, and execution of experiments and direct studies.
  • Conduct DNA cloning, bacterial strain construction, and reporter assays.
  • Maintain mammalian cell cultures and conduct cell line-based experiments.
  • Design, conduct, and interpret results of experiments using standard laboratory methods.
  • Modify and adapt protocols to troubleshoot experiments and develop new protocols.
  • Prepare media, autoclave, and stock lab supplies while maintaining experimental records.
  • Assist in manuscript preparation and prepare data for presentations.
  • Teach basic laboratory techniques to students and technical support staff.
  • Stay updated on trends in the field by reading professional journals and attending lab meetings.
