About The Position

The Systems Specialist III at Albireo Energy is responsible for assisting in the operation of the department, performing technical duties related to building automation systems. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing components, mentoring lower-level technicians, and ensuring the successful startup of automation systems. The position supports Northern Virginia and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and communication with various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Equivalent experience, vocational school, or an Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field is preferred.
  • Experience in high-availability environments like data centers, hospitals, or government facilities.
  • Familiarity with the Automated Logic product line and software suite is preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience writing Building Automation Systems programs and graphics for brands like Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, Schneider, etc.
  • Self-starter attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the Automated Logic product line and software suite.
  • Prior experience with specific brands of Building Automation Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair building-automation-system field cabinets, including communication devices, printed circuit boards, power supplies, electrical/electronic controls, sensors, and transducers.
  • Perform point-to-point checkout per department standards using multimeters and calibrated meters.
  • Mentor lower-level technicians to maintain departmental standards.
  • Take initiative for the checkout of end devices, module configuration, and troubleshooting network issues.
  • Responsible for the startup of simple to complex automation systems and mechanical equipment.
  • Understand various protocols integrated into the building automation system.
  • Make complex programs and graphic changes to meet specifications and sequences.
  • Communicate technical issues to management and senior technicians.
  • Maintain field markups and coordinate with lower-level technicians.
  • Submit thorough daily reports to the EMS project team and supervisor.
  • Drive employee engagement, training, and development in safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards, driving continuous improvements.
