About The Position

The Systems Firmware DevOps group at Seagate is focused on supporting tools, processes, and infrastructure for storage array solutions. The role involves contributing to engineering efforts from design to implementation, solving complex technical challenges, and documenting results in a team-oriented, Scaled-Agile environment.

Requirements

  • Solid programming skills, including Python.
  • Experience with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes and Mesos.
  • Experience with provisioning and troubleshooting Linux and Windows Server operating systems.
  • Experience with virtual machines, including Docker and VMWare.
  • Experience with databases such as MySQL and NoSQL.
  • Experience with code management tools and methodologies like Git, SVN, and Jira.
  • Pursuing a B.E/B.S degree in computer science/engineering or related fields.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with provisioning and troubleshooting storage and networking devices.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery systems, preferably Jenkins.
  • Experience with system configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Experience with system/environment monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Nagios, or Zabbix.
  • Experience with object-oriented analysis, design, and development methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to engineering efforts from design to implementation.
  • Solve complex technical challenges and implement process improvements.
  • Document results of engineering efforts.
  • Utilize scripting/automation skills to sustain and create new features for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery Firmware release pipelines.
  • Provision and troubleshoot Linux/Windows Server Operating Systems and Storage/Network devices.
  • Support Systems FW DevOps projects utilizing virtualization and container orchestration technologies.
  • Participate proactively in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver work products in 3-week sprints.
