About The Position

HCA Florida South Shore Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist PRN to join their team. This role involves greeting patients, comforting them, and transporting them to the surgical suite. The Surgical Technologist will perform technical duties to assist in preparing and caring for surgical patients, working closely with a dedicated team of surgical professionals. Responsibilities include assembling supplies and equipment for surgical procedures, preparing sterile instrument tables, assisting in positioning patients, maintaining sterile techniques, and monitoring patients during procedures.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved surgical technologist program required.
• BLS Required (American Heart or American Red Cross).
• Hospital based Surgical Tech experience preferred.
• Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assemble supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
• Prepare sterile instrument table for procedures.
• Assist in positioning patients and preparing patient's skin for surgery.
• Maintain sterile techniques and monitor for breaches in sterile technique.
• Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments, sponges, and sutures.
• Monitor the patient during procedures.
• Gather equipment for cleaning and sterilization after procedures.
