About The Position

The Supply Chain Manager at Newly Weds Foods is responsible for managing daily operations related to the organization's Material's Management functions, which include Inventory Management and Analysis, Purchasing, Warehousing, Cycle Counting, and performance improvement of physical inventories. The role involves problem-solving and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs associated with materials management. The manager will oversee the Plant Purchasing, Warehouse, and Customer Service Managers, ensuring excellent customer service levels while meeting manufacturing goals. The position requires detailed analysis and professional reporting for senior management, as well as identifying and implementing Continuous Improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field preferred.
  • 6-8 years of Plant Operations Experience with multi-functional responsibility for 3-4 years.
  • Ability to interface with multiple levels within a plant environment.
  • Working knowledge of inventories and computerized inventory management systems.
  • Strong people skills to manage complex departments.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, project management, and planning skills.
  • Ability to compile and create accurate professional reports.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and AS400 systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations for Material's Management functions including Inventory Management, Purchasing, Warehousing, and Cycle Counting.
  • Implement changes to improve efficiency and reduce costs in materials management.
  • Oversee Plant Purchasing, Warehouse, and Customer Service Managers.
  • Collaborate with production to maintain customer service levels and meet manufacturing goals.
  • Perform detailed analysis and reporting for senior management.
  • Identify Continuous Improvement opportunities and implement solutions.
  • Manage department heads and employees to meet workload and schedules.
  • Work with Human Resources to staff departments and train associates.
  • Control expenses and oversee labor, equipment, and facilities usage.
  • Assist in planning and directing plant activities for efficiency.
  • Prepare, review, or audit forms, records, and logs as needed.
