The main objective of this position is to support on-going logistics initiatives throughout the Roofing Group in an undefined department. This position is a flexible function in that the analyst could be assigned to one of the following departments; Transport, DRP, Material Master, Customer Service (Data Management Support) and Production Planning. Reducing working capital (finished goods inventory) while maintaining agreed-upon Customer Service levels (fill rates & lead times) and managing Inter-plant Stock Transfers [e.g. balancing product availability and warehouse utilization to meet customer service goals]. Utilizing current and future tools to better manage Inter-plant inventory levels from a Network/Aggregate level. Manage the master scheduling function for manufacturing facilities located in various parts of the country. Using current and future MPS systems help to optimize both manufacturing costs and customer service levels. Maintain master production planning data to best utilize our planning systems. Develop data query tools to help develop management reports and provide data for senior level management decisions. Key metrics can include the following: Production Planning KPIs, Streamline KPIs Working capital (Inventory investment, days of sales, & turns), Forecast accuracy, OTIF measurements, Transport KPIs, Material Master KPIs.

  • Prepare sales analysis for 'externally produced' and manufactured products stocked at all Distribution Centers in the Roofing Group.
  • Create reports and gather data, monitor trends and compile statistics from data management systems, extract information to Excel and calculate min/max/median/average for each product.
  • Identify products sales level and point out the low sellers or non-sellers at a six month's level.
  • Prepare Service Level Agreement [SLA] proposals to be reviewed with Regional Sales managers.
  • Prepare presentations for SLA review to include but not limited to, product statistics, graphics, and other methods of articulation for externally produced and manufactured sku's shipped by each DC for the 12 months' period, number of inter-plant transfers per DC, etc.
  • Develop production plans to meet customer demand and working capital targets.
  • Daily, weekly, monthly, review of existing and future production planning and budgetary planning preparations.
  • Review monthly sales forecast projections.
  • Maintain master production planning data to best utilize our planning system.
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing work schedules.
  • Ensure that schedules support daily on time shipping performance.
  • Working with the customer service department, ensure that production schedules are meeting our both manufacturing and customer service requirements to properly communicate availability dates.
  • Design ongoing and ad-hoc analyses to measure the impact of regular functions or projects on the transportation network.
  • Develops and maintains key performance indicators and minimum standards to report carrier performance measurements.
  • Obtain knowledge of U.S. Export Regulations and applicable Foreign Government Regulations to ensure company adherence while on the job through various sources.
  • Partake in day to day activities in tandem with departmental needs, goals and seasonal fluctuations.
  • Maintain Facility Planning records including SAP Advance Planning files.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of model for each responsible plant.
  • Proactively seek out opportunities to exceed customer service, working capital, and cost targets.
  • Provide ad hoc data analysis and reporting to the business as needed.
  • Present final Presentation to executive team at conclusion of internship program.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems.
  • Previous internship or experience in supply chain or logistics.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Export Regulations.
