Requirements

  • Two to three years of experience in office work, including typing, filing, and statistical reports.
  • Highly organized and able to focus in a diverse, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to sit, walk, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs. and push over 200 lbs. in a wheelchair if needed.
  • Manual dexterity and visual ability for keyboarding and data entry required.
  • Hearing acuity required for patient interviews.
  • Mental concentration is essential for accurate data collection in a multi-functional environment.
  • Knowledgeable with various computer programs including Kronos, Windows, dBase, Excel, and Lawson.
  • Ability to make administrative decisions in the absence of the Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Patient Access staff teams to ensure efficient patient registration.
  • Oversee daily operations of the Patient Access Department.
  • Fill any departmental position as needed.
  • Hold monthly department meetings.
  • Assist department manager with hiring, orienting, training, and maintaining department standards.
  • Implement departmental staffing plans to schedule and maintain adequate staffing.
  • Prepare and administer annual competency reports and ensure completion of health assessments for all direct reports.
