About the position

The Stroke/Sepsis Program Coordinator is a clinical expert implementing and monitoring treatment protocols and performance improvement activities of the Adena Health System under the direction of the Clinical Education Manager and the associated clinical Directors. This position provides leadership for development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical pathways, clinical procedures, guidelines and protocols in a system wide approach. Assures institutional readiness and compliance for the Sepsis and Primary Stroke Center Certification. Participates in stroke prevention initiatives and community outreach. The Stroke/Sepsis Program Coordinator makes decisions independently and/or in collaboration with all members of the health care team. This position provides direction to the stroke/sepsis program to ensure quality, timeliness and effective care. This position has access to confidential patient, physician, Health System and financial information.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor treatment protocols and performance improvement activities.
  • Provide leadership for development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical pathways, procedures, guidelines, and protocols.
  • Ensure institutional readiness and compliance for Sepsis and Primary Stroke Center Certification.
  • Participate in stroke prevention initiatives and community outreach.
  • Make independent decisions and collaborate with healthcare team members.
  • Provide direction to the stroke/sepsis program to ensure quality and effective care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
  • RN - Registered Nurse with Current Ohio License.
  • NIHSS - National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification.
  • 3-5 years of recent clinical experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • American Board of Neuroscience Nursing (ABNN) Stroke Certified Registered Nurse (SCRN) credentialing.
  • Experience in the care of stroke/sepsis patients.
