About The Position

DHL Global Forwarding (DGF) manages the flow of goods and information across a customer's global supply chain utilizing air/ocean/ground transportation, customs brokerage services, and dedicated warehousing/distribution centers. We are part of Deutsche Post DHL, the world's leading logistics provider with operations in over 220 countries. We have an exciting opportunity for a STATION MANAGER who will be responsible for all aspects of a logistics operation including, but not limited to, sales, freight forwarding operations, customer service, customs clearance, and billing. You will also ensure, and held accountable for, the profitability of the logistics operation.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in freight forwarding industry working with airfreight required
• Import and/or Export experience is required
• 3+ years' experience in a leadership capacity is required
• BA/BS Preferred
• Basic knowledge of CargoWise system is preferred
• Air Gateway experience a plus
• Strong ability to develop, coach, train, and mentor staff to success
• Demonstrated leadership ability to include driving KPIs, employee engagement / team building
• Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, presentations)
• Proficient computer skills: Microsoft (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook)

Nice To Haves

• Ocean freight experience
• Experience with both import and export

Responsibilities

• Support and develop a strong team of freight forwarding professionals
• Ensure effective cost management by leading negotiations with external suppliers
• Manage service quality and monitor satisfaction levels for key customers
• Direct annual budget preparation for Branch/District location
• Ensure effective customer service through a process oriented approach
• Ensure accuracy of invoices, bills of lading, shipping statements, and foreign currency conversions
• Establish, monitor, and revise policies, procedures, and service standards for station operations
• Responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and developing direct reports
• Assign work, set completion dates, review work, and manage performance
