About The Position

The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating staffing schedules within the nursing home, ensuring that all units are adequately staffed according to established policies and procedures. This role involves communication with nursing personnel, preparation of staffing reports, and collaboration with various departments to maintain efficient staffing operations.

Requirements

  • Must be a High School Graduate.
  • At least one year of related experience in clerical, computer, and scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and follow instructions from your supervisor as outlined in established policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all telephone schedules are confirmed with a written entry on daily staffing sheets.
  • Ensure all agency time slips are properly prepared, signed, and submitted as required in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Assist in preparing written responses for scheduled changes and vacation requests to employees.
  • Assist in developing methods for determining quantity and categories of staff for 24 hours.
  • Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Director of Nursing concerning staffing issues as indicated.
  • Ensure all units are properly staffed with appropriate categories of staffing.
  • Complete 'Daily Staffing Sheets' for a bi-weekly period (electronically).
  • Prepare weekly staff vacancy report to be submitted each Wednesday.
  • Maintain an accurate telephone roster for all nursing personnel.
  • Check leave requests with the master staffing sheet to determine the impact on the staffing schedule.
  • Update daily staffing when leave is approved.
  • Notify the CCC and RCC of any changes or call-ins on their respective units.
  • Collaborate with the staff development coordinator regarding orientation of new hires to prepare the master schedule.
  • Assist in the computation of timecards.
  • Maintain attendance profile for nursing personnel.
