About The Position

Performs daily, monthly and annual accounting and reporting functions for Hunt Companies Business Services (HCBS).

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree.
  • 1-3 years accounting experience Required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend legal documents.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to work within specified deadlines.
  • Intermediate knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Ability to identify problems, collect and analyze data and draw logical conclusions.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills including, proficient in use of Excel and MS Office.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail, work independently.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • General knowledge of chart of accounts, general ledger, trial balances, generally accepted accounting principles and internal control policies and procedures.
  • Requires an independent thinker who is highly motivated and willing to take initiative.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited university Preferred.
  • Experience with JD Edwards-Enterprise One System Preferred or other large ERP system Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares monthly bank account reconciliations.
  • Monitors cash balances for various entities.
  • Records top level reclassifications/adjustments, i.e. negative cash reclass.
  • Prepares general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Prepares standard journal entries.
  • Performs calculations using spreadsheet templates.
  • Reviews activity and provide explanations for actual vs budget variances.
  • Prepares and reviews documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Supports basic accounting inquiries.
  • Prepares and gathers support for interim and annual audit requests as assigned.
  • Works with other departments, backfill, and serves as backup on tasks as needed.
  • Prepares accounts receivable, accounts payable and journal entries for billbacks.
  • Various HCBS allocations as assigned.
  • Records lease amortization.
  • Provides support for monthly G&A billings and quarterly settlements.
  • Prepares the support and record company allocations and related adjustments, i.e. health insurance.
  • Property tax related accruals and amortization.
  • Prepares employee accounts receivable reconciliations.
  • Prepares non-payroll accounts receivable and payables.
  • Prepares analysis of account balances and activity and add variance explanations.
  • Prepares and/or helps review supporting schedules for financial statements and footnotes.
  • Coordinates information requests and responses from other internal teams.
