About The Position

The Sr. Sentinel Consultant at Optiv is a fully remote position that requires a blend of technical expertise and consultative skills. The consultant will be responsible for leading complex projects, providing technical escalation support, and ensuring high-quality deliverables. This role involves mentoring less experienced consultants, contributing to operational efficiency, and maintaining productive relationships with clients and team members. The consultant will also engage in continuous professional development and knowledge transfer activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred with approximately 5-7 years of related work experience.
  • Approximately 4-7 years of technical architecture experience.
  • 3-5 years of consulting experience in SIEM preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Sentinel and Azure ADX highly preferred.
  • Solid experience in Security Architecture and/or Enterprise Architectural Frameworks (e.g., SABSA, TOGAF).
  • Strong knowledge of security concepts and methods such as vulnerability assessments and incident response.
  • Strong understanding of networking, operating systems, security technologies, and application programming/scripting languages.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance issues related to privacy and data protection.
  • Working knowledge of operating systems, virtual machine environments, and relational database management systems.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence other functional areas.
  • Well-developed negotiation skills and ability to build consensus.
  • Solid business acumen and basic project management expertise.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel.
  • Willingness to travel to meet client needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Related professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, and/or CISA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver solo-based work or act as a point for complex projects.
  • Act as a technical escalation point to assist other consultants.
  • Lead capacity planning and hardware specification recommendation efforts.
  • Oversee technology deployment activities, including connector configuration and custom rule development.
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing and bug-related engineering efforts.
  • Design, implement, and educate on specific technology build processes and code migration.
  • Provide knowledge transfer and post-production support as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively within the team and with clients.
  • Mentor less experienced consultants.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops and professional associations.
  • Obtain and maintain top-tier vendor certification.
  • Complete administrative project tasks like time and expense entry and status reporting.
