About the position

The Sr Quality Manager / Chief Inspector is responsible for implementing, managing, and enforcing quality policies and procedures at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation's Van Nuys location. This role involves directing and controlling the operations and personnel engaged in quality department activities to ensure the delivery of safe, compliant, and high-quality products. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of FAA regulations and quality assurance systems, as well as the ability to maintain relationships with regulatory authorities and manage departmental budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the development, implementation, and strict adherence to quality processes.
  • Manage planning and development of quality standards, methods, and procedures used by the Repair Station.
  • Review and resolve quality issues with Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) supervisors.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of QA auditing results to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant FAR and FAA regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain working relationships with local regulatory authorities, OEMs, and vendors.
  • Prepare departmental budgets and establish procedures to ensure expenditures are within company guidelines.
  • Manage personnel responsible for various areas of the RS Quality organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related curriculum or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8 years of progressively responsible technical experience with a highly regulated quality assurance system.
  • 5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • An Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license is required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of FAR Part 145 and associated guidance materials.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with FAA 135 and Civil Aviation Authorities.
  • Experience within Part 25 may be required.
  • Advanced knowledge of inspection and certification processes.
