The position involves investigating and determining user process and data requirements for MES & Digital Factory functional areas. The role requires communication of these requirements to the technology team lead and the IT manager for feasibility and timing development. The individual will work alongside the technology team lead to recommend actions to the functional area steering committee for inclusion in the implementation plan and will implement those actions accordingly. The role also includes performing basic system administration and understanding out-of-the-box system capabilities, as well as creating business process documentation, including process flows, test scripts, and user training guides.

  • Key participant in cross-functional business and IT team to define user needs for MES & Digital Factory functions.
  • Produce as-is process maps of current business practices through team interviews with process owners and users.
  • Produce recommended optimized process maps of business practices with input from process owners and users.
  • Determine user requirements for configuration and presentation of MES & Digital Factory solutions through interviews with user groups.
  • Translate process mapping and user requirements to the technology team lead and IT Manager.
  • Help prepare proposed implementation initiatives for the steering committee.
  • Oversee implementation of approved action items, including training and user satisfaction.
  • Create lessons learned during each stage of implementation for future planning.
  • Monitor solution metrics and develop continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support installation and maintenance of MES and SCADA/HMI systems.
  • Analyze plant needs and tailor the MES solution accordingly.
  • Ensure integration with SAP for analytics and reporting accuracy.
  • Guide customization and configuration of MES/SCADA applications.
  • Integrate MES solutions with additional systems impacting manufacturing.
  • Stay updated on key Manufacturing IT trends.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in engineering or information technology.
  • 6 to 10 years of experience in the discrete manufacturing industry.
  • Proven experience in consulting and implementing MES and SCADA systems.
  • Proficiency in integrating MES with ERP systems, especially SAP.
  • Experience with PP, QM, and WMS modules in SAP.
