About The Position

Reporting to the VP of Corporate Communications & Marketing, the Senior Director of Corporate Communications & Marketing will lead the development and execution of CPS Energy's comprehensive marketing, public relations, and internal/external communications strategies, as well as ensure operational excellence and process execution. The Senior Director of Corporate Communications & Marketing will work with the team to develop world-class internal and external communications plans for CPS Energy, directly managing communications activities that promote, enhance, and protect the Company's brand reputation. The Senior Director of Corporate Communications & Marketing is responsible for the development, integration, and implementation of a broad range of marketing, public relations, and internal communications activities to steer the strategic direction and elevate the organization's position across the community, region and industry. This individual is an ambassador for the organization and will build effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including media.

Requirements

  • Experience in corporate communications and marketing with demonstrated experience in managing comprehensive strategic plans.
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding external, community environments.
  • Experience in crisis communications.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using social media platforms.
  • Established relationships with reporters, locally and nationally.
  • Knowledge in leveraging customer insights to enhance customer experience.
  • Experience with the integration of digital marketing into campaigns.
  • Demonstrated skill in proactively building relationships.
  • Innovative thinker with a track record of translating strategic thinking into action plans.
  • Experience in building, mentoring, and coaching teams.
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Superior management skills with the ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports.

  • Leadership and management experience, which may be through formal supervisory experience or informally.
  • Certifications in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an integrated strategic marketing and communications plan to advance CPS Energy's brand identity.
  • Create communications and marketing strategies to cultivate and enhance meaningful stakeholder relationships.
  • Enhance the reputation, trust and credibility of the CPS Energy brand.
  • Ensure consistency and alignment of core messaging to brand and culture.
  • Identify challenges and emerging issues faced by the organization and define appropriate strategies to support them.
  • Exercise judgment to assist the team in prioritizing media opportunities.
  • Implement best practices for marketing and communications.
  • Create an iterative, integrated communications plan to maximize effectiveness.
  • Develop and execute a tracking system to evaluate metrics for all communications and marketing programs.
  • Work directly with partner communications and advertising agencies to support campaigns and initiatives.
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Corporate Communications & Marketing team.
  • Recruit and manage appropriate Corporate Communications & Marketing team members.
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach.
  • Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals.
