About The Position

The Sr. Consultant - Network and Edge Security at Optiv is a remote position focused on delivering high-quality technical consulting services, particularly in Palo Alto Networks solutions. The role requires a blend of technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and team members. The consultant will lead complex projects, provide technical guidance, and ensure operational efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality in deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and approximately 5-7 years of related work experience.
  • Approximately 4-7 years of technical architecture experience.
  • 4-7 years of hands-on experience with Palo Alto.
  • Minimum 4 years of professional Information Security experience in a consulting, vendor, or enterprise-level role.
  • Desirable experience within Security Architecture and/or Enterprise Architectural Frameworks (e.g. SABSA, TOGAF, O-ESA).
  • Hands-on experience implementing Palo Alto NGFW, VM-Series, Prisma Access.
  • Preferred experience in Public and Private Cloud, VM-Series, and/or Prisma Access/SASE.
  • Hands-on experience with public cloud providers specifically AWS, Azure, and optionally GCP.
  • Experience with advanced private cloud and micro-segmentation.
  • Experience with container network and runtime security (CN-Series) is a plus, though not required.
  • Minimum Palo Alto Certification Level PCNSE or PCSFE; PCNSC is highly desired.
  • InfoSec/Cyber implementation experience.
  • Fully qualified/certified on 1 or more technologies.
  • Experience in a customer-facing/consulting capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead junior consulting professionals.
  • Ability to work US hours (any time zone).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with container network and runtime security (CN-Series) is a plus, though not required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver solo-based work or act as a point for complex projects.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point to assist other consultants.
  • Lead solution architecture, capacity planning, and hardware specification recommendations.
  • Oversee all Palo Alto Network and Edge Security deployment activities and third-party system integration.
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing and bug-related engineering efforts.
  • Design and implement specific technology build processes, code migration, and source control use.
  • Provide knowledge transfer and post-production support activities as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively within the team and with clients.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops and professional associations.
  • Obtain and maintain top-tier vendor certification.
  • Complete administrative project tasks like time and expense entry, status reporting, and project completion reporting.
  • Contribute to Optiv communities for solutions of focus.
