About The Position

The Store Leader-Hourly at GameStop is responsible for driving sales and ensuring exceptional guest service in a retail environment. This role involves managing store operations, supervising staff, and implementing sales initiatives while fostering a positive shopping experience for guests. The Store Leader is expected to lead by example, actively engage in selling, and maintain operational effectiveness to meet the store's goals.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age and present state-required proof of age documents.
• High school diploma or GED required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Three or more years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience required; at least 1 year of retail management experience preferred.
• Ability to work alone and move throughout the store unassisted for extended periods (up to 12 hours per day).
• Ability to lift and/or move objects and displays (up to 20 lbs.).
• Proficient guest service skills and ability to communicate effectively in English.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.
• Experience in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure world-class guest service experiences for all guests.
• Drive sales and guest loyalty through effective solution selling techniques.
• Recruit, hire, assess, develop, and retain store associates committed to outstanding guest service.
• Provide timely feedback and conduct performance appraisals for store associates.
• Manage daily business transactions and ensure accurate reconciliation in the POS system.
• Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising according to company guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with store associates and multi-unit leaders to implement store initiatives.
• Protect company assets through effective inventory control and loss prevention practices.
